The Sustainable Investor is a concise online course that will help you:

  • Know more about sustainable investment options, and how environmental and social issues can be addressed in money and finance.
  • Feel empowered to confidently speak up to your financial adviser about investments that don’t align with your values.
  • Use your money to create positive impact for people and society, and ensure your adviser prioritises your values and goals.

It’s time for you to make aligned investment decisions WITH your adviser.

Our money, from micro-investments all the way to retirement funds, can change the world for the better.

Let's put our money where our values are.

Does this sound familiar?

  • You want to invest in line with your values, but you feel your adviser is not as motivated as you are.
  • You want to bring up climate change with your adviser, but they keep recommending fossil fuels and mining as they’re only focused on performance and returns.
  • I’m sure you really want to consider the environment and society in your investments, but your adviser is just not asking you about the issues that matter most to you.
  • Even though your adviser doesn’t know about how to invest more sustainably, you’re determined to invest your money for a better future.
When working with a financial adviser, sustainable options are the fastest growing priority area for investors. Unfortunately, very few advisers are suitably equipped to meet this demand.
Savvy investors like you, need to lead the way when talking to your adviser about your values, so you can:
  • Transition your portfolio to more sustainable investment options.
  • Ensure your adviser is aligning their recommendations with the issues that matter most to you.
  • Be assured your investments are contributing to a better future.

And of course, feel confident to take charge of your investments, and direct financial advice conversations around sustainability.

Why do we focus on helping investor-adviser relationships?

Ethical Invest Group has been supporting and upskilling advisers on sustainability and ethical investment since 2016. One of the biggest drivers of demand for sustainable and ethical options comes from the investor level.

Whilst a small portion of advisers are leading the way in meeting investor demand, unfortunately, not all advisers are motivated or equipped enough to provide appropriate advice that aligns with client values and desires. In other words, it’s up to investors to take the lead and influence their adviser.

Rather than focusing only on responding to adviser motivation, Ethical Invest Group is taking an ecosystem approach to fast-track the shift towards ethical and sustainable investment.

That’s where you come in.

If you’re here, you know your money contributes to change and you are motivated to ensure that change is for the better, by equipping yourself with the information and skills required to take the lead with your financial adviser. You are contributing to a global shift of the world’s wealth.

"Thank you for being here. I want to personally thank you for taking the responsibility and not waiting for the industry to catch up with us."

- Alexandra Brown, Founder of Ethical Invest Group

I’m being asked more and more how to invest more sustainably, and how to have informed conversations with advisers.

Environmental issues like climate change, plastic pollution, biodiversity loss, deforestation, and animal cruelty are at the forefront of peoples’ minds with rising sea levels and catastrophic weather events filling the news.

Human rights, diversity, equality, inclusion, and other social areas are increasing in importance for people who realise that creating a more equitable planet and helping all people have access to healthcare, education and finance, is critical for a sustainable future.

My experience with sustainable investment includes speaking at conferences, working directly with advisers, and co-founding Altiorem. It now includes supporting investors, not through direct financial advice, but by empowering them to speak up.
