Looking for Alexandra Brown’s bio, photos, logos and links? Head to our Press and Media Kit.

Do you have a publicly available resource you believe financial advisers would learn from?

Alexandra Brown leads the Sustainable Investment AdviceĀ course. This comprehensive and CPD-accredited onlineĀ course enhances a financial adviserā€™s client proposition by facilitating a deep understanding of ESG and sustainability. Advisers gain the skills to analyse and recommendĀ sustainable investment products, and the tools to confidently discuss client values and preferences.

TheĀ Sustainable Investment Advice (SIA) course is filled with show-throughs of fund manager websites and sustainability reports. Advisers in the program are given links to publicly available resources and tools like impact calculators. To complement her own teachings, Alexandra provides members of theĀ SIA courseĀ with a curated selection of free mini courses, gathered from across the web. These courses cover topics like sustainability, the Sustainable Development Goals, and climate change.

ā€œI have recently finished theĀ [course] and am in absolute awe of the tremendous amount of work done pulling it all together. It is like a one-stop-shop for getting your head around what's important to understand, what is an absolute must, and how you find all this information. And guess what? You don't really need to go too far because Alexandra pulled it all in one place, all together."
-Ā Nataliya Dikovskaya, NASHAUS Consulting

The end result is an engaging and content-richĀ course that builds on the expertise of many specialists, masterfully pulled together into an organised platform. Advisers benefit from an increased scope of their learning, with real-life examples to deepen their understanding, and practical tools to assist their implementation.

“The thing I best enjoyed about the program, just like the advice process with clients, it's all about the stories. I really liked the examples of stories that Alexandra sprinkled throughout the course throughout the learning. It made it more interesting, more engaging and really brought the learnings home.”
What resources would be considered for inclusion in Sustainable Investment Advice?

To be included in the SIA course, the resource will assist with the learning or practical application of ethical and sustainable investment advice. A link will be provided to members and a show-through may feature as part of a video tutorial within the program.

The types of resources we use in the Sustainable Investment Advice course:

  • Free courses in ESG or sustainable finance
  • Sustainability or other financial reports that highlight best practice
  • A detailed look at a managerā€™s process for constructing a sustainable investment product
  • Step-by-step guides for understanding ESG performance of companies or funds
  • Engagement reports, especially those that stand out and disclose outcomes
  • Transparent disclosure of proxy voting records and rationales for votes
  • Stock stories and fund commentary
  • ESG issue position statements and ethical charters
  • Materiality thresholds and exposure limits for screening
  • E-books on ethical and responsible investing
  • Tools such as impact calculators and ESG scorecards

If you have a resource that will add value to advisers in the Sustainable Investment Advice course, email [email protected] and include a link so we can check it out!
