Do you have a publicly available resource you believe financial advisers would learn from?
Alexandra Brown leads the Sustainable Investment Advice course. This comprehensive and CPD-accredited online course enhances a financial adviser’s client proposition by facilitating a deep understanding of ESG and sustainability. Advisers gain the skills to analyse and recommend sustainable investment products, and the tools to confidently discuss client values and preferences.
The Sustainable Investment Advice (SIA) course is filled with show-throughs of fund manager websites and sustainability reports. Advisers in the program are given links to publicly available resources and tools like impact calculators. To complement her own teachings, Alexandra provides members of the SIA course with a curated selection of free mini courses, gathered from across the web. These courses cover topics like sustainability, the Sustainable Development Goals, and climate change.

To be included in the SIA course, the resource will assist with the learning or practical application of ethical and sustainable investment advice. A link will be provided to members and a show-through may feature as part of a video tutorial within the program.

- A detailed look at a manager’s process for constructing a sustainable investment product
- Step-by-step guides for understanding ESG performance of companies or funds
- Engagement reports, especially those that stand out and disclose outcomes
- Transparent disclosure of proxy voting records and rationales for votes
- Stock stories and fund commentary
- ESG issue position statements and ethical charters
- Materiality thresholds and exposure limits for screening
- E-books on ethical and responsible investing
- Tools such as impact calculators and ESG scorecards
